Air Greenland's modest fleet of aircraft is comprised of some 35 planes and helicopters that serve not only as the country's essential air transportation system; they are also called upon to handle a host of diverse duties such as mineral exploration, construction, and search and rescue operations. Currently, they offer an extensive network of regularly scheduled flights across Greenland as well as international service to Iceland, Denmark, and Canada.
Greenland has strict rules governing the import of animals to the country. When travelling with your pet it is important to keep in mind that you must acquire a permit issued by the Government of Greenland before entering the country. Travelers are also advised to notify Air Greenland well in advance if they are planning to travel with their pet. As long as the proper documents have been issued, they will accept pets either in the cabin of the aircraft or in the cargo hold, depending on the size of the animal.
