Air Travel Guides > European Airlines > Edelweiss

Edelweiss is Switzerland's leading travel and leisure airline. They are part of the Lufthansa Group and an affiliate of Swiss International Airlines. From their central hub in Zurich, they fly direct to some 45 cities in 25 countries, depending on the season and the destination.

Edelweiss will accept pets on most routes. They ask that you register your pet with them before you fly, and they remind travelers that some of their destinations have strict policies governing the introduction of any animal species to the country. Please familiarize yourself with all rules and regulations concerning animals entering the country (or countries) you will be travelling to.

At this time, they list only dogs and cats as candidates for in-cabin transport and as checked baggage in the cargo hold. Fees are based on whether your destination is considered a short, medium, or long-haul flight. There are also small and large carrier sizes for animals travelling in the cargo hold of the aircraft.
