  • It is strongly recommended that you contact the consulate, embassy, or government authority for any country (or countries) you will be visiting to ensure that you have met all entrance requirements.
  • Anyone travelling in Business Class on an intercontinental flight cannot carry a pet in the cabin due to a lack of space under the seats.
  • Each flight has a pet quota. Arrangements should be made ahead of time to ensure that you will be able to travel with your pets.
  • Travelers are asked to make reservations for their pets at the same time as they make their own reservations. Arrangements can be made either through a travel agent or through Finnair Customer Care.

If you are unable to travel with your pet

In the event that you are not able to travel with your pet, Finnair Cargo has options for pets traveling unaccompanied. They ask that bookings be made at least two weeks in advance for international destinations, and at least one week in advance for domestic destinations. Anyone shipping live animals must comply with all International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations and must provide all necessary documentation.

Codeshare flights

Pets may not be accepted on flights operated by codeshare partners. It is strongly recommended that you contact any codeshare partners or other airlines directly to familiarize yourself with their individual policies regarding pet travel.
