Pet Friendly Hotels Tampa, FL

Tampa is a great area for anyone traveling with pets. This city has quite a few dog parks and there are also dog beaches just a few minutes away. Honeymoon Island State Park has a very nice dog beach.

Because of the intense heat that you can sometimes encounter in Tampa you should always carry extra water and food for your pet. Dogs and cats can get dehydrated very quickly and should always have fresh water available to them. Many pet stores now carry foldable water bowls that easily fit in your pocketbook or glove compartment in your car.

Be sure to always clean up after your pet and keep them on a leash at all times. If you decide to pull over by one of the many lakes and ponds in the Tampa area, keep your pet on a leash and be aware of your surroundings. Many of these bodies of water are home to local alligators. Your pet would make a tasty snack for them.

If you are staying overnight in Tampa and the surrounding area, be sure to check and make sure your hotel allows for pets. Many hotels will allow you to keep a pet but might charge an extra pet fee.
